  Direct vs. Student Services

The blue box below the calendar in the Appointment Management window shows the percentage of time spent on both direct and student services, for the day and overall.

A student service is one directly involving or on the behalf of a student. Therefore, while not direct services, consultations and referrals are still considered student services. Reports are available which summarize the amount of time spent for both student and direct services. Any appointment in the Responsive Services, Individual Planning, or Guidance/Curriculum Service Categories are student services, as they directly benefit students. Hallways assigns these values automatically.

A direct service is defined by whether or not a student was directly involved with the appointment. The Responsive Services, Guidance/Curriculum, and Individual Planning service categories, with two exceptions (consultations and referrals), are direct services and therefore must always be associated with at least one student.
