Why is this software so cheap? Does that mean it's a cheap
product?
Absolutely not. We're totally confident in the quality of our software. We price
it as low as we can in order to make it widely available and affordable.
What's the difference in pricing mean?
We
currently have two versions of Hallways: standard and custom.
The
standard version of Hallways, described on this site, costs $129.99 for a single
user license. For information on multi-unit pricing, click
here.
The
customized version of Hallways, built to meet your specific needs, starts at
$159.99 per single user license. For more information about customization,
click here. Multi-unit discounts also apply to
customized versions of Hallways.
What if I don't like it? Can I return it?
Unfortunately, no. However, you can transfer your license to another user.
What's the difference between Hallways and SCAATAP?
Although
SCAATAP is a good program, Hallways offers many more features for the same
price. You can view a comparison of the programs by clicking

I have Windows 98. Will Hallways work on it?
No.
However, we do have another version of Hallways which will run on Windows
98. When ordering, please note that you have a Windows 98 operating system, and
we'll be sure to send the correct version.
I use a laptop and a desktop computer. Can I use Hallways on
both?
Yes. You
can install your copy of Hallways on up to 3 computers, but only for your own
use. You can update and transfer your data so
you'll always have up-to-date information no matter where you're working.
Can I give a copy Hallways to other counselors at my
school/district?
No,
they'll have to purchase their own copy, but they may qualify for a discounted
price. We do make one exception about sharing: if more than one counselor uses a
single computer, they can share the program. However, the reports generated in
Hallways carry only one counselor name.
How secure is my data?
Every
copy of Hallways is password protected. Once you receive your copy, you can set
your own password at any time. As well, the actual data is encrypted, doubly
protecting your information.
Can I import student data, or do I have to enter all the
students again?
Since
our basic precept is to eliminate duplicate entry, we supply our clients with
the Hallways Import Utility at no charge. This utility gives full directions for
organizing your current student data, then imports it from Microsoft Excel
directly into Hallways.
What if I don't have Excel?
We can
import data from many different programs into Excel for you. This service is
almost always free, although in some particularly difficult situations we may
charge a $25 fee. We will notify you prior to the work being done if this fee
will apply to you.
What about confidentiality?
We
provide a confidentiality agreement for our clients before we accept any files
or data from them.
What if I already have Access installed? Will Hallways still
work?
Yes. We
have several different versions of Hallways available, to suit Access 2000, XP,
or 2003. If you already have Access installed, please note which version on your
order form.
